Martin Grubinger & Percussive Planet

Master percussionist Martin Grubinger and his band Percussive Planet put on an amazing show during this evening in the Roda Hall. It will be a colorful mixture of styles, instruments and especially a lot of drums. The world-famous Austrian will show us what is possible with a pair of drumsticks between your fingers. And it is much more than you think. Grubinger belongs to the outer category: he is considered one of the best percussionists in the world and enjoys international fame. He is a drummer who makes use of a wide range of musical styles. His playing is both inspiring and lightning fast. The New York Times called him ‘the master of the high-speed chase’.

His Percussive Planet Ensemble, with which he will be performing at WMC, consists of several percussionists and a top wind section. The band previously had success during the break of the Eurovision Song Contest. The repertoire during this concert is very broad: from contemporary percussion music and marching, to world percussion and pop music.
